 Types of Trees

There are two main types of trees, deciduous and evergreen;

  • Deciduous trees are trees whose leaves loose their green coloring and turn orange, red or brown before they are shed at the end of the growing season, generally in autumn.
  • Evergreen trees carry their leaves throughout the year. Evergreens do shed their leaves, but only a few at a time and over a long period, so there is never a noticeable change. For most evergreen trees, the leaves don't change color.
  • Semi-evergreen trees, usually keep their leaves in mild winters, but loose them in severe ones.

Other types of Trees and their usage: Deer resistant trees, Christmas Trees, Oldest Trees, Conifer Trees, Bonsai trees, Flowering Trees, Maple Trees, Olive Trees, Pine Trees, Shade Trees, Willow Trees.
